When you first decide that you are interested in making money online then the first stop for most of us is Google. You go to your computer and type in something like ‘How do I make Money Online’ and like magic Google provides you with every single money making scam on the internet. Please don’t get me wrong there are some very worthy systems and programs out there that are really interested in helping you make some money online but for the most part you are going to find useless information in many different formats for many different prices. In this article I am going to talk about Affiliate Marketing which is the method of making money online that I have chosen simply because the barrier to entry is very low, just about anybody can start an affiliate marketing business and have reasonable success. I would like to share a few simple steps to avoid getting scammed along the way.
First of all you have to understand that in order to make money online that there is going to be some monetary investment. There is no such thing as something for nothing. Fortunately the cost for starting your own affiliate marketing business is almost nothing when compared to the cost of starting a traditional offline business such as a restaurant. Your main investment is going to be education. You probably could find all of the information for free through research but it is not very practical and will take you a hundred years to build a business that way. Besides why re-invent the wheel many people have already blazed that trail successfully so why not follow and replicate proven methods. Secondly I refer to affiliate marketing as a business because that’s what it is, if you want to have success than you will also treat it as such. There is no special formula or top secret system available at any price that will allow you to earn a fortune on a part time basis from your sofa. It will take time and work but if you conduct your business properly you can make a very good living.
There are several components of your business that must be addressed individually and each will require some investment and attention individually but none less important than the others. If you want to make money online then you will successfully accomplish all steps. I will briefly touch on each one in the order that is most practical.
1.Market – You need to find a hungry crowd of people that all have a common interest, I recommend finding something that you are interested in yourself and have some knowledge of.
2.Product – Once you find a hungry market you need a quality product to feed them. There are many affiliate programs out there some good and some not so good. Choose carefully, ask around some forums and get advice.
3.Website – You are going to need a website. I don’t care what anybody says don’t believe anyone that says you don’t need a website they are trying to trick you. Again ask around some forums and get advice you will need a domain, hosting and a website.
4.Content – Content is King you will hear that over and over because it is true. Once you have your website you need to fill it with content. Your content should relate to your product be useful and informative in order to be effective.
5.List – Statistically people only buy on the 7th contact that means once a person has seen your website and left without buying they are gone forever and most likely will buy from someone else. Unless you have a way to capture their contact info so that you can send them offers and promotions and establish a relationship. Remember these are your customers treat them like they are important because they are your business.
Only once you have successfully accomplished these tasks will you start to earn money online. Whether you do them yourself or hire a professional is all up to you but they must all be done if you want to be successful. I hope this information is helpful good luck.
